NSW police have defended their officers’ actions in the deadly shooting of a man who was brandishing a machete at a Western Sydney shopping centre after a brawl involving two groups of women.
Assistant Commissioner Gavin Wood described the two officers involved in the Mount Druitt incident as ‘brave’ and ‘good people’, as an independent investigation into the police response has been launched.
