(Donetsk Region) – Ukrainian defence forces have successfully destroyed a high value Russian radar complex known as the ZooPark 1M, in a targeted operation led by the elite Black Forest Brigade’s reconnaissance unit.
The Russian military suffered the loss of the ZooPark 1M, a counter battery radar system designed to detect and locate the source of artillery fire. According to Ukrainian sources, the equipment was valued at approximately 25 million US dollars, which is around 19.5 million pounds sterling.
Ukrainian intelligence pinpointed the radar’s location and delivered precise coordinates to artillery units, who carried out a direct and effective strike. The successful elimination of the system is another blow to the Russian dictator’s invading forces, whose technological advantage continues to diminish as Ukraine ramps up its precision-led strikes.
The radar system is key to detecting the trajectory of incoming missiles and mortars, giving the Russian military a tactical advantage on the battlefield. With its destruction, Russian forces lose a critical tool in their efforts to target Ukrainian positions.
The Black Forest Brigade, which continues to grow in reputation for high impact operations, identified and guided the attack with surgical accuracy. Ukrainian officials celebrated the victory as a demonstration of advanced reconnaissance capability and coordination between ground and artillery units.
