Russian State TV Claims Only Moscow, Beijing and Washington Matter in “Peace Talks” (Video)

(Moscow) – Kremlin propaganda surged to new heights during a recent episode of the political show “60 Minutes.” Featuring host Olga Skabeeva, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, State Duma member Andrey Kartapolov, and pro-regime poet Sergey Strokan, the programme painted a distorted view of the ongoing war in Ukraine and looming diplomatic negotiations.

The show centred on the Russian dictator’s so-called willingness to negotiate, while heaping blame on Ukraine and Western allies, especially the United States, for stalling peace. Zakharova and her panel claimed that US President Donald Trump is being misled by his advisers, some of whom, they allege, work in favour of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They insisted Trump is a “worthy partner for negotiations”  while suggesting he is slowly coming around to Moscow’s narrative.

The guests repeatedly referred to Ukraine’s government as a “terrorist regime” and denied any collegiality between diplomats. Zakharova stated that anyone threatening Russian civilians could not be called a counterpart in peace talks, insisting that Ukrainian officials are driven by showmanship and public applause rather than serious diplomatic intent.

The conversation mocked past negotiations, distorted Ukrainian statements, and boasted that Russia is succeeding both in battle and on the diplomatic front. Zakharova accused Ukraine of provoking international outrage to rally Western nations in its support, claiming Kyiv manufactures crises to garner applause. All this, she said, while Moscow “seriously prepares for peace.”

In response to President Zelenskyy’s statement that negotiations with Moscow were impossible due to constant deception, Zakharova doubled down. She claimed Russia had always followed through on its commitments, and painted Ukraine’s hesitancy as proof of chaos and inconsistency in Kyiv’s leadership.

Despite referencing previous negotiation rounds in Istanbul and claims that the Russian dictator had formally delegated peace representatives, there was no acknowledgement of Russia’s invasion, war crimes, or bombardment of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. The spectacle aimed to reframe the Kremlin’s aggressive war as a defensive effort misunderstood by the so-called “world minority”—their term for Western democracies.

The panel concluded by asserting that the future of the planet lies in the hands of three global superpowers: Russia, China, and the United States, while dismissing Europe, the Baltic states, and Ukraine as mere sideshows.
