The U.S. and Israel continue to attack Iran despite Trump’s claims that negotiations are taking place. Six people were reportedly killed in a strike on the Iranian city of Qom while another attack “completely destroyed” four residential buildings in Iran’s West Azerbaijan province.
If the U.S. wants the war in the Middle East to stop, Washington should pressure Russia to stop helping Iran, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Thursday ahead of the G7 meeting in France. Russia has reportedly been sharing satellite imagery and intelligence. It also helped Iran upgrade its drones to resemble the ones used by Moscow against Ukraine.
A bipartisan group of U.S. senators has introduced a proposal that could lead to sanctions against members of the Hungarian government. The move targets officials accused of blocking support for Ukraine and maintaining close energy ties with Russia.
