The 1st Azov Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine is targeting enemy supply lines near Donetsk using Hornet kamikaze drones equipped with AI features.
According to journalist Julian Röpcke, Starlink satellite terminals are used to maintain reliable communication with drone operators.
Meanwhile, detailed technical specifications of the drone remain unknown.
According to unconfirmed reports, its range may be 100–150 km, with a warhead weighing around 5 kg.
The drone is developed and produced by Swift Beat, owned by Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google.
Active strikes on enemy logistics by Azov units in the Donetsk area were reported earlier, on April 16.
Strike drones are being used along key routes in the areas of Zuhres, Andriivka, Starobesheve, Horlivka, and Lysychansk, as well as on the Donetsk ring road.
Released footage shows that Ukrainian drones can operate directly over Donetsk – more than 50 km from the front line. Notably, the drone camera captured the Donbas Arena stadium located in the center of the occupied city.
According to the 1st Azov Corps, the effective work of UAV operators deep within the operational zone indicates the limited capabilities of Russian airspace control and air defense systems in this area.
The primary targets of Ukrainian drones are Russian trucks transporting personnel, ammunition, and supplies, as well as fuel tankers.
