Ukrainian fighters have cleared Kovsharivka settlement in Kupiansk direction in northeastern Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military revealed on Monday. During the clearing operation, four Russian troops were eliminated, and six others were taken prisoner. The operation came after the Russian Ministry of Defense announced its forces captured the village in Kupiansk. It’s worth noting that Russia has repeatedly claimed the alleged seizure of Kovsharivka village. Video footage shared in social media shows the Russian hostages captured in the recent operation in the area . The captured Russians said they were treated well by Ukrainian fighters. “Nobody kills us here. We are being treated well. They don’t humiliate us,” one Russian captive said. “They feed us, give us water,” another soldier said. The Russian soldiers said they would all be exchanged with Ukrainian servicemen being kept in Russia. The video shows the Russian captured sitting in a trench, covered in a blanket and eating food. Ukraine has repeatedly refuted the Russian Defence Ministry’s claims about the capture of certain villages and settlements, especially those in the north and east of the country. Official statements from Moscow often describe the seizure of settlements, industrial zones, or defensive strongholds, emphasizing tactical gains and portraying Ukrainian forces as retreating under pressure. Ukraine, however, has consistently challenged many of these assertions, arguing that Russian reports frequently exaggerate or misrepresent the situation on the ground. Ukraine acknowledges partial advances but denies that control has been fully established, stressing that front lines remain fluid and that counterattacks are underway
