The crew of a Shark reconnaissance drone from Ukraine’s Shadow unit located and adjusted artillery fire on a Russian Navodchik-2 UAV system.
The unit shared a video of the operation on its official Telegram channel.
The footage shows Ukrainian Defense Forces units targeting the control station of the system with kamikaze drones, resulting in the vehicle catching fire.
Then, Russian servicemen left their shelter and gathered around the burning equipment, attempting to extinguish the fire.
At that moment, a shell—likely fired from a HIMARS system—exploded nearby, resulting in casualties among the enemy personnel.
Due to multiple drone strikes and damage from rocket shrapnel, the station is likely beyond repair and no longer operational.
Navodchik-2 UAV
The main component of the Navodchik-2 UAV is the control station, which manages UAV flight operations, processes the collected data, and automatically transmits it to combat control systems.
Real-time information is transmitted to platforms such as the KRUS (Reconnaissance, Command, and Communication System), the Unified Tactical-Level Command and Control System (ESU TZ), and the Automated Command and Control System for Special Forces Units (ASU).
The system is specifically designed to support the operations of tube artillery battalions and multiple launch rocket systems.
Its control station interfaces with four types of UAVs.
Granat-1 and Granat-2 are lightweight, man-portable drones with electric motors, intended for short-range reconnaissance.
Granat-3 and Granat-4 are heavier UAVs powered by gasoline engines, offering greater range and longer flight duration.
