Bulgarians are heading to the polls today for their eighth parliamentary election in just five years. Former President Rumen Radev, who stepped down in January to launch his new "Progressive Bulgaria" coalition, was leading the polls with roughly 34% of the vote. While he promises to dismantle the "oligarchic model," his Russia-friendly stance has Brussels and NATO on high alert.

– WARSAW GHETTO UPRISING ANNIVERSARY
April 19th marks the 83rd anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising – the largest armed Jewish uprising during World War II and the first urban uprising in occupied Europe. Each year on this anniversary, Warsaw becomes a city of yellow flowers.
