– HUNGARY HEADS TO DECISIVE VOTE
Hungary’s pivotal parliamentary vote is now underway, with live images from polling stations coming in as voters across the country begin to cast their ballots. Incumbent right-wing PM Viktor Orbán faces off against the pro-European Tisza party led by Peter Magyar in a race that will not only decide the country’s political direction but may have a major impact on European politics.
– UKRAINIAN SOLDIERS FREED FROM RUSSIAN CAPTIVITY
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine has secured the release of 175 servicemen and seven civilians from Russian captivity. He added that the soldiers had fought on various fronts across eastern and southern Ukraine, and many had been held since 2022.
– NO BREAKTHROUGH IN U.S.–IRAN NEGOTIATIONS
After 21 hours of negotiations in Pakistan, Iranian and U.S. negotiators failed to reach an agreement. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that the United States’ conditions were not met, including Iran’s renunciation of pursuing nuclear weapons.
