Ukraine has not only survived four years of full-scale war, but also significantly increased its defense potential, particularly in missile development. Now, we’re talking about a fundamentally new level of capabilities. Military and political analyst Dmitry Snegirev emphasized this on the Freedom television channel. "The new Ukrainian cruise missile, the Flamingo, has a range of approximately 3,000 km. What’s particularly noteworthy is its warhead, which weighs 1 ton, 150 kilograms. For comparison, the American Tomahawk has a warhead of 500 kg and a range of approximately 1,600 km," Snegirev noted. He emphasized that in the last month alone, the Flamingo missile has carried out three successful strikes on targets deep within the territory of the Russian Federation. "The first episode was the Kapustin Yar test site. The second was the GRAU depots near Kotluban in the Volgograd region. Moreover, the occupiers were forced to confirm successful Flamingo launches. It’s telling that the distance between Kapustin Yar and Kotluban is only 120-150 kilometers. After the first strike, the Russians should have concluded that their air defenses were ineffective. But we’re seeing the opposite—the Flamingo is once again penetrating the air defense system and hitting its targets," the military-political analyst emphasized. Another resonant blow, according to him, was the destruction of a Russian military-industrial complex enterprise located approximately 1,300 kilometers from the line of contact. "We’re talking about a key enterprise that produces engines for the Oreshnik and Iskander-M missiles, and previously produced components for the Topol-M. It’s a strategic facility. And the very fact that it was destroyed speaks to a qualitatively new level of Ukraine’s capabilities," the guest stated. He also drew attention to the rocket’s technological component. "Penetrating Russian air defenses became possible thanks to the implementation of the innovative Ukrainian TERCOM guidance system. This is the same concept that allows the Tomahawk to evade air defenses at extremely low altitudes. The Flamingo flies at an altitude of up to 50 meters, exploiting the terrain, and effectively becomes invisible to Russian detection systems," explained Snegirev. According to him, alarming reactions are already being recorded in Russian military public groups. "They’re not at all optimistic. They understand perfectly well that the air defense system is incapable of countering these weapons. Moreover, after the announcement of scaling up Flamingo production to 50 units per month, the situation for them becomes even more threatening. The Russian Federation only has about 40 oil refineries. This is what the Russians should be thinking about, given the leaky air defenses and the buildup of Ukrainian missile capabilities," Snegirev emphasized. In summary, the military-political analyst noted that, in four years of war, Russia has failed to achieve its stated goals, while Ukraine, on the contrary, has strengthened its position. "The Russian side’s recent statements about its willingness to compromise effectively undermine the entire ideological construct of the so-called ‘special military operation.’ Despite Russia’s military defeats, Ukraine’s position remains firm: we stand where we stand, and there’s no talk of any territorial concessions. This is an extremely harsh statement for a country that withstood the initial onslaught and has been resisting the superior armada of the occupiers for four years now," Dmitry Snegirev concluded.
