In On The Record, host Aaron Dahmen speaks with former Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk just minutes after details were revealed about the Trump–Putin call during which a ceasefire was proposed for the timeframe of the end of World War II commemorations in Moscow.
Yatsenyuk warns that the Kremlin is running a calculated fake diplomacy designed to “humiliate America.” “There is no way to trust President Putin. He is lying through his teeth. Period,” says the former Ukrainian PM.
He argues there are no real peace talks on the table, only a continuation of Russia’s strategy to buy time and manipulate the West. But he also makes a direct appeal to Washington, stressing that supporting Ukraine is “not charity but a strategic investment in U.S. and allied security,” and insists Ukraine is already proving itself as a key pillar of NATO’s future strength.
