As a result of three successful SBU operations to strike the Crimean Bridge during 2022-2025, the structure became practically "emergency". Now the bridge operates with significant restrictions that do not allow trucks over 5 tons to move here, and the enemy does not carry out any military logistics through the structure. All three operations were successful and had their own subtleties.
The strikes on the Crimean Bridge became one of the "calling cards" of hundreds of operations by Ukrainian special services carried out during the full-scale war. The head of the Security Service of Ukraine, Vasyl Malyuk, spoke about the details in an interview with the channel "We are Ukraine".
During the conversation, the channel’s journalist asked the head of the SBU about the operations that were successfully carried out against Russia. Vasily Malyuk specifically recalled the "Web" operation, for which the special services had to create a fictitious company in Chelyabinsk .
Continuing the conversation, Malyuk also recalled the three attacks on the Crimean Bridge, the first of which was carried out in October 2022. "In fact, there are hundreds of implementations and each of them is worthy of respect and it is worthy of attention. But if, well… You can call it a certain calling card, then yes, indeed, the Crimean Bridge. Especially the first strike, it was October 8, 2022. It was the 70th birthday of Puti. And it was then that we gave him a corresponding gift," noted Malyuk.
The head of the SBU recalled the morning of the day when the first strike was carried out. Part of the roadway of the structure ended up in the water, and nearby, on the railway tracks, fuel tanks were burning. Vasily Malyuk called this operation "mega-successful." The operation of strikes on the Crimean Bridge continued with the second attack, carried out in 2023. Then the special services managed to get in not from land, but from the sea.
"Well, however, this was not the only attack on the Crimean Bridge. A year later, in 2023, we entered not from land, but from the sea," noted Malyuk.
The second attack was carried out with the help of two surface drones. It was carried out thanks to the team of the 13th Main Directorate of the Department of Military Counterintelligence, as well as General Hunter, the brother of the head of the SBU, as noted by Malyuk himself.
The third attack on the Crimean Bridge took place in 2025. This operation also had its own peculiarities, since the special services approached the structure underwater. "I won’t go into all the details, but we entered from land, entered on the water surface. And in 2025, we entered underwater. There were two strikes, each containing a hundred tons of TNT equivalent," the head of the SBU shared. Three strikes on the Crimean Bridge yielded results: Vasily Malyuk claims that they were successful. As a result, there was serious damage to the structure’s supports, the so-called "bulls". After that, the Crimean Bridge operates in a limited mode, in particular, trucks no heavier than 5 tons are allowed to move across it, and there is no enemy military logistics.
