A group of infantrymen from the Kara-Dag Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine broke out of enemy captivity, but were surrounded in the Pokrovsk direction, near Kamyshevka. During the mission, aerial reconnaissance officers noticed Ukrainian soldiers – naked, burned, with their hands tied.
As reported Butusov Plus channel , in order to establish contact, the scouts wrote notes, put them in plastic bottles and passed them to their brothers-in-arms using a drone. This method of communication allowed them to coordinate their actions and organize resistance. Everyone fought back – even the seriously wounded, under heavy fire and attacks from enemy drones.
The infantrymen marched 8 kilometers under fire, and all this time aerial reconnaissance corrected their route with the help of drones.
The most serious sector on the frontline is currently Pokrovsk, where more than 100,000 Russian troops have been concentrated. The situation also remains dangerous in the Zaporizhzhia direction, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
Zelenskyy listed the main directions of the frontline and briefly described what is happening there: Pokrovsk direction: the most serious situation is here. Russian forces have accumulated more than 100,000 personnel and are preparing offensive actions. However, Ukraine is aware of this and controls the situation.
Recall, 15th Brigade of Operational Assignment is a unit of Ukrainian National Guard from the city of Zaporizhzhia. The unit was formed as 9th Regiment of Operational Purpose on the basis of disbanded 9th Special Purpose Regiment “Cheetah” in August 2014. On February 24, 2022, the unit was urgently dispatched to stop the Russian advance towards Melitopol and Tokmak. The regiment managed to slow down, and eventually stop the Russian progress. In January 2023, the 9th Operational Regiment was reformed into an assault brigade under the Offensive Guard program and renamed as 15th Brigade of Operational Assignment and received nickname Kara-Dag.
Recently, three more units from the “Offensive Guard” joined the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine in addition to the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov”.
This was reported by the press service of the corps on its Telegram page.
The operational and tactical unit of the National Guard is headed by Colonel Denis “Redis” Prokopenko. The corps from the “Offensive Guard” includes the following units: 1st Presidential Operational Brigade “Bureviy”; 14th Operational Brigade “Chervona Kalyna”; 15th Operational Brigade “Kara-Dag”.
