Soldiers of the 4th Rubizh Rapid Reaction Brigade of Ukraine defeated the enemy forces and prevented them from strengthening their positions in the Pokrovsk sector. Despite the successful defense, the enemy continues to perform assault operations to capture the positions of the 4th Rubizh Rapid Reaction Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. İn this case specialists of the 4th Battalion of the Freedom Force of the Rubizh National Guard brigade once again demonstrated their mastery. However, despite advantage, the Russian army does not always prepare for an assault with high quality, so the use of open vehicles and high speed does not allow it to realize its potential fully.
Separately, the 4th Battalion’s external pilots demonstrated their ability to destroy the enemy in their positions, including the destruction of enemy fortifications. It should be noted that the use of small assault groups by Russians is becoming more common. Depending on the group, it may consist of 10 to 20-30 infantrymen and armored vehicles. Using the terrain and forest belts, they try to get close to the positions of Ukrainian defenders. In one of this episode Russian motorcycle raids from the south of Pokrovsk didn’t get far. The "Shershni Dovbusha" attack UAV battalion destroyed enemy vehicles trying to enter the town via the Donetsk–Pokrovsk highway.
Furthermore, 7th Air Assault Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces released data on the situation in Pokrovsk via official information in a messaging app. Enemy actions are taking place under the cover of adverse weather conditions: thick fog complicates aerial reconnaissance and engagements in open terrain. According to available data, the invaders’ goal remains unchanged – to reach the northern borders of the city with a subsequent attempt to encircle the agglomeration.
Even under conditions of limited visibility, the defense forces continue to identify and destroy enemy groups in urban areas. To clear the city, various elements of the defense forces are involved: unmanned systems units, assault and air assault units, special operations forces, the National Guard, the National Police, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
Major Oleksii Hetman, a reserve officer of the Ukrainian National Guard and a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, stated that no Russian troops are currently in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, aside from saboteurs. Fighting continues on the cities’ outskirts with shifting front lines. The Pokrovsk sector, despite being only 5-6% of the front, sees up to 100 daily clashes. "On the outskirts of Pokrovsk, near the city itself and near Myrnohrad, battles are ongoing, so the situation has not changed significantly. If you look at DeepState maps and foreign sources that also monitor events, we see that no significant changes have occurred," Hetman noted.
According to the reserve major, there is information that the Defense Forces are operating north of Pokrovsk, meaning they are conducting counteroffensive actions. The Russians are trying to carry out assault operations. That is, combat engagements are constantly ongoing, and positions are constantly changing.
