Iran has launched attacks targeting Israel’s Tel Nof airbase, as well as US military assets stationed at Jordan’s Al-Azraq base, including F-35 and F-15 fighter aircraft. According to a statement from the Iranian military’s press office, details of the operation have been made public. The report indicates that drones were used to carry out the strikes. The statement claims that beginning early in the morning, Iran’s armed forces deployed unmanned aerial vehicles from multiple locations across the country. These drones were directed at the Israeli Air Force facility at Tel Nof and at positions within the Al-Azraq base where US fighter jets are based. Iran has launched a series of retaliatory attacks on Israel as well as military and strategic facilities belonging to the US since February 28. In the latest of such attacks, Iran launched two ballistic missiles targeting the US-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean on March 21, marking the furthest ever attempted Iranian missile strike. The attacks are in response to the Epic Fury operation launched jointly by the US and Isarel that targeted military, nuclear facilities, senior Iranian officials. According to a report from the Center for Strategic & International Studies and a BBC analysis, Iran’s strikes on US military bases have caused $800-mn worth damages in the first two weeks of the Middle East conflict. On February 28 itself, Iranian forces fired ballistic missiles and deployed drones against several key miltary sites in the Gulf, including the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain, as well as major air bases hosting American forces such as Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, and Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. Explosions were reported across these facilities, with some missiles intercepted but others causing damage to infrastructure, including runways and support facilities. The initial strikes continued into February 28 and March 1, when Iran carried out additional missile and drone strikes as part of a broader multi-front campaign. During this phase, Al Dhafra Air Base in Abu Dhabi was again targeted, alongside other facilities across the Middle East region.
