Kuleba: Trump not seeking strong Ukraine in talks | Ukraine Brief

The U.S.-mediated effort to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia appears uncertain as Washington may be shifting attention toward the war with Iran. While Moscow and Kyiv say they are open to negotiations, some reports suggest Ukraine could face delays in critical military supplies as U.S. resources are redirected.

Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, talking to TVP World says President Donald Trump does not want to see a strong Ukraine with a strong position in negotiations, and believes a ceasefire should be achieved through Ukrainian concessions. Meanwhile, Russia continues its overnight strikes on Ukrainian cities, causing civilian casualties and damage.

Actor Sean Penn is visiting Ukraine. Instead of attending the Oscar awards ceremony, he is in Kyiv showing support for the country and meeting President Zelenskyy. The news bulletin ends with Moldova declaring an environmental alert following oil contamination in the Dniester River caused by a Russian strike on a nearby Ukrainian hydropower plant.
