A fuel train has derailed and exploded in Michurinsk city in Russia’s Tambov region. According to Telegram channels, an explosion and fire occurred at the Kochetovka-2 station in the city. About 30 wagons were damaged. Videos shared in social media capture the moment of the powerful explosion and fire in the facility. As a result of the incident, train traffic has been suspended. Russian Railways reported that, according to preliminary information, there have been no casualties. An operational headquarters has been created, fire and recovery trains have been sent to the scene to eliminate the consequences of the incident. It’s worth recalling that earlier on February 1, another train with over 20 freight cars derailed on the Orichi-Shalegovo stretch of the Gorky Railway. There were no casualties as a result of the incident, but traffic on the site was suspended.
