President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has revealed that Ukraine is now using its long-range Neptune and Flamingo missiles in the war against Russia. “Over the past week – I won’t specify in what quantity – our pair of Neptune and Flamingo missiles was used. The corresponding results can be analyzed independently. We’re not saying it’s a mass deployment of this pair. We’re simply saying there has been use, and there are the first tangible results from this weapon of ours,” Zelenskiy told Ukrinform publication. Addressing Ukraine’s long-range strikes inside Russian territory, Zelensky noted that Palianytsia weapon has already started striking Russian ammunition depots. “That’s positive, because we’ve had various moments before – and now we’re no longer talking about isolated incidents. The second good thing: Our missile drone, Ruta, has hit a target over 250 kilometres away for the first time – a sea platform,” Zelenskiy said. The Ukrainian leader described as the biggest achievement the Liutyi, Fire Point drones, stating that a major operation involving up to 300 units has been carried out. “That was a serious effort, and now we know that Ust-Luga and Primorsk are within our reach. In my opinion, this marks a significant success,” Zelenskiy stated. Earlier, Ukraine introduced its long-range Flamingo cruise missile with a range of up to 3,000 kilometers and the missile has already entered serial production. The long-range missile was developed by the Fire Point company. Meanwhile, the upgraded Neptune missile has been successfully used against ground targets for a year, with a current range of about 400 kilometers – expected to increase to 1,000 kilometers soon, Ukrinform reported. On October 1, Ukraine unveiled a land-attack version of its Neptune cruise missile with a range of up to 1,000 kilometers and a larger 260 kg warhead and extended body length. In recent weeks, Ukraine has used its long-range drones to target Russian energy industry, striking oil facilities around the country.
