The Netherlands has announced a new step in supporting Ukraine, aimed at strengthening its digital security.
The government is allocating additional funds to enhance the cybersecurity of Ukrainian state institutions.
Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel announced the decision to allocate €10 million to the UK-led cybersecurity program for Ukraine. According to him, this contribution will help improve the resilience of Ukraine’s cyber systems against constant attacks from Russia.
Van Weel emphasized that Russian cyberattacks against Ukraine occur systematically, and this hybrid war poses a real threat not only to Ukraine but to all of Europe.
“The United Kingdom is our reliable partner in strengthening Ukraine’s resilience. Today, the Netherlands is joining the British program by allocating €10 million to support Ukraine’s cybersecurity,” the diplomat stated.
The minister emphasized that these funds are also aimed at supporting the work of the Tallinn Mechanism – an international coalition that coordinates the efforts of allies in the field of Ukraine’s cybersecurity.
This contribution complements previous steps taken by the Netherlands to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Earlier, the country provided €22 million for the development of Ukraine’s air defense systems and cyber resilience. In this way, the Netherlands continues its consistent policy of supporting Kyiv in its fight against Russian aggression – both on the battlefield and in the digital sphere.
