Russian occupation forces continue offensive actions in the area of Vovchansk in Kharkiv region, despite significant losses. This was stated during a broadcast by Viktor Tregubov, head of the Information Department of the United Forces grouping. The data confirm the overall trend of active enemy actions and simultaneously a high risk to the defense. “Unlike Kupiansk, in Vovchansk most of the buildings have been destroyed for a long time. The fighting has been going on longer there, and the destruction is much more serious, so the question is where to hold positions at all”, – Viktor Tregubov added.
In one of footage, Russian forces showing their losses in Vovchansk, while their command tries to invent stories about the full capture of the city.
According to Tregubov , the occupiers are advancing into territory that is practically completely destroyed, while Ukrainian defense forces hold the line under conditions where fortifications are made difficult due to constant strikes, including the use of guided air bombs.
“There is no such multi-layer ‘puff pastry pie’ as in Kupiansk or, for example, in Lyman. There the Russians’ positions are more defined, but they are spending a lot of effort simply to push through, while a dam issue hindered them a bit. It really slowed them down, but it did not stop them”, spokesperson said.
At the same time, he emphasized that due to the lack of green vegetation that could serve as cover, losses among the invaders have increased recently.“The only question is how many of their own soldiers they have to expend to push through these ruins”, Tregubov said
He added that the proximity of Russia to the combat area allows the enemy to quickly replenish its forces. “The territory of the Russian Federation is directly nearby, so they can afford constant replenishment… and with logistics directly from the territory of the Russian Federation there are no particular problems”, spokesperson said. Holding the line requires sustained monitoring and coordinated actions of the defenders to stabilize the situation and prevent further pressure.Analysts note that proximity to Russia allows the adversary to quickly replenish their supplies of troops and ammunition, but the lack of strong fortifications and green vegetation reduces the effectiveness of the offensive.
The spokespeople of the United Forces emphasize the need for long-term monitoring of the situation and clear coordination of defenders’ actions to hold the front. Events near Vovchansk remain under close scrutiny by both Ukrainian and international observers, and official reports from military authorities regularly inform about the overall situation in Kharkiv region.
