His death was confirmed by the Russian ‘Yugra’ TV channel, which had previously published an interview with Rudomyotov.

He replaced Dmitry Aksyonov, who had led the unit since the start of mobilization in Russia.

Previously, Rudomyotov participated in a counterterrorism operation in the North Caucasus.

He was mobilized for the war against Ukraine in October 2022 from the city of Seversk in the Tomsk region.

“Oleg Rudomyotov was killed on May 12 during a massive attack by enemy drones,” the TV channel reported.

The ‘Yugra’ battalion is a military unit of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area of Russia.
