Poland Closes Airspace Over Eastern Poland During Russian Attack on Ukraine

During a massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine, Poland closed its eastern airspace and sent combat aircraft into the sky.

OSINTtechnical reported on this.

The Polish military declared a state of high alert as Russian drones and cruise missiles attacked the central and western regions of Ukraine.

During the attack, air traffic control cleared the skies over eastern Poland. Only a NATO refueling plane and a few fighter jets remained in the air.

This aircraft arrived in Poland at the end of July and is performing tasks both within NATO and in support of Ukraine, in particular, providing intelligence for Ukrainian air defense.

Therefore, this aircraft and its crew could play a significant role in protecting Ukrainian cities from a massive Russian attack.

Such actions by Warsaw and NATO are associated with the risk of repeated violations of Polish airspace by Russian drones and missiles.

Although no violations have been recorded, the probability remains high, as Russia has launched more than 600 drones and missiles.

Recently, European countries warned the Kremlin that NATO is ready to shoot down Russian offending aircraft, while Moscow threatens war in response.

In a tense meeting in Moscow, British, French, and German ambassadors expressed concern over the intrusion of three MiG-31 fighter jets into Estonian airspace.

After negotiations, the delegations concluded that this was a deliberate tactic authorized by the Russian command.

Russian officials denied violating airspace and insisted that Moscow was not trying to test NATO. At the same time, they explained another incident in which drones crossed the Polish border unintentionally.
