The situation has become even more tense amid the ongoing mass protests in Iran. A radical incident has been recorded in the city of Karaj. Here administrative building has been set on fire by protesters. The footage clearly shows that the administrative building is completely engulfed in flames, with a strong fire engulfing all floors.

The incident occurred at night and the fire was observed from various points in the city. In this act of protest, women have combined the burning of the Ali Khamenei’s image with cigarette smoking, an activity that has long been restricted or stigmatised for women in Iranian society. Demonstrators set fire to Al Rasool Mosque a powerful symbol where Khamenei once led prayers. In Isfahan, the building of the state television and radio company IRIB was set on fire, which is confirmed by video materials published by BBC Persian and Iran International. In Mashhad, protesters seized several police stations, one of which was set on fire. In Yezd, during the protests, the mayor’s building was burned down.

In Tehran, protesters set fire to police cars and buildings belonging to state structures, including in the areas of Firdous Boulevard, Haft-Hauz and Quds Square. Fires are reported near facilities connected to the IRGC.

A state TV journalist standing in front of fires on Shariati Street in the Caspian Sea port of Rasht said: “This looks like a war zone – all the shops have been destroyed.”

There are also reports of protest activity, arson and clashes in Tabriz, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Dezful, Masala, Dargaz and Darab. In Darabe, the shop of the chain "Ofeg Korush", connected with the CSIRO, was set on fire; Looting is not recorded. Tasnim reports the death of one officer of the IRGC during clashes. There is also a manipulation of video inserts from Tabriz, where the participants allegedly supported Pahlavi, but on the real footage, the participants chant "Azerbaijan is an honor, Pahlavi is dishonorable."
