In April–May, soldiers of the 23rd Assault Regiment R.U.G. of the 2nd Khartia Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine carried out a successful operation in the Vovchansk sector.
This was reported to Militarnyi by the corps’ press service.
The troops conducted a sweep deep into enemy territory up to a company strongpoint. Ukrainian servicemen and foreign volunteers from Latin American countries were involved in the combat mission.
In order to carry out the assault, the command engaged forces from the 10th, 11th, and 12th companies. During the operation, a diversionary maneuver was used to disorient the enemy.
As part of the operation, the groups advanced through the forest areas on the left and right flanks near the village of Starytsia.
On the left flank, 50 personnel were deployed to clear the company strongpoint.
On the right flank, 15 Ukrainian assault troops were deployed. Additionally, the military eliminated over 10 dugouts and 12 Russians.
This significantly weakened the invaders’ defense in this sector.
Russian troops repeatedly attempted to regain control of the lost positions. To this end, the enemy set up counter-assault operations.
Currently, the 23rd Assault Regiment R.U.G. is carrying out missions in the Kharkiv sector. The regiment specializes in assaults, aerial reconnaissance, and the use of FPV drones.

As a reminder, the Lava Unmanned Systems Regiment, part of the 2nd Khartia Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, carried out a robotic operation in Kupiansk. The operation took place back in February 2026.
At that time, a special-purpose company eliminated 10 occupiers who were holding a position in the city.
