Russian forces are failing in their attempts to build up troops for an assault on Hryshyne on the Pokrovsk front in eastern Donetsk region, the Ukrainian military has reported. According to the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, Russian units attempted to move additional personnel and equipment along a logistics route linking Shevchenkove and Pokrovsk. More than 30 light vehicles, including motorcycles, quad bikes, and other motorized transport were deployed for the operation. Ukrainian units operating within the corps’ area of responsibility struck part of the convoy while it was still in transit, including with M142 HIMARS systems. The remaining vehicles were later detected and destroyed on the southeastern outskirts of Pokrovsk as Russian troops sought cover. Preliminary reports suggest that elements of Russia’s 76th Air Assault Division took part in the operation. "The enemy’s objective is to further increase pressure on the northern outskirts of Pokrovsk and, subsequently, to launch an assault on Hryshyne,” the statement said. Being a strategic and transport hub, Pokrovsk remains one of centers of hostilities, with Russian troops seeking to capture the city. The control over Pokrovsk would give Russian troops access to other key cities in Donetsk region. The fighting is particularly intense on the outskirts of the city, where Russian forces are seeking to gain a foothold and increase pressure from multiple directions. Ukrainian units describe constant combat involving artillery duels, drone strikes, and close-quarters engagements, with the battlefield changing rapidly from day to day. Despite the pressure, Ukrainian forces continue to disrupt Russian plans and prevent a breakthrough. Many Russian assaults fail before reaching Ukrainian defensive lines, leading to significant losses in manpower and equipment.
