Russia launched a massive attack against Ukraine overnight on Monday. President Zelenskyy said on Tuesday morning that the country was hit by more than 300 drone strikes, as well as significant numbers of ballistic and cruise missiles.
Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continues to come under fire from Russian attacks. A large-scale overnight assault cut backup power critical to multiple nuclear facilities.
Speaking in Geneva on Tuesday, UN Human Rights Office Spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani, said High Commissioner Volker Türk was deeply angered by Russia’s repeated attacks on Ukraine’s energy facilities.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, said today that Russia is leveraging the risk of nuclear meltdowns as a means of coercion.
