A large movement of Russian army units from the Hulyaipole direction of Zaporizhzhia Oblast has been recorded, Center for the Study of the Occupation head Petro Andriushchenko reported, publishing the relevant footage. The Russians are right now transferring a large number, of primarily engineering units towards the north of Donetsk Oblast," Andriushchenko stated. Furthermore, the transfer of Russian assault and marine units was recorded in the direction of Mariupol – Novoazovsk district – Donetsk, he said. This transfer "took place hastily and secretly," Andriushchenko highlighted. "The intermediate result this week is a more technical movement towards the north of Donetsk Oblast and additional manpower transfer to the Hulyaipole sector." Another transfer of Russian soldiers was spotted in temporarily occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, Andriushchenko reported. The transfer lasted for nearly three days, according to him. As part of the spring-summer campaign, Russian forces will concentrate their main efforts on two priority sectors of the Ukrainian front. The occupiers aim to seize a massive urban hub in the Donetsk region at any cost while simultaneously ramping up pressure on Ukrainian defenders in the Zaporizhzhia region. Vladyslav Selezniov, a military expert and former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, outlined the enemy’s key objectives and their tactic of stretching Ukrainian reserves during an interview with Radio NV. The expert noted that occupying major Ukrainian cities remains a top priority for the invaders. According to him, the seizure of this key Donetsk agglomeration was a primary reason behind Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022. «It is clear the enemy has two key directions where it will focus its efforts during the spring-summer offensive. One is an attempt to attack and capture the territories surrounding the Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Kostiantynivka urban agglomerations,» Selezniov said. Additionally, he pointed to a threatening buildup of enemy troops in the south of the Zaporizhzhia region. The expert explained that continuous transfers of additional forces are being observed there, aimed at intensifying assaults and pressuring Ukrainian positions. The military analyst says Russian forces are following last year’s playbook on other front sections. The occupiers are trying to artificially escalate the situation and launch attacks on secondary axes to divert attention and stretch Ukrainian strategic reserves. He says the aim is to push Ukraine’s General Staff into flawed decisions on how to deploy forces on the battlefield. The Russians now view the Zaporizhzhya direction as their primary focus and are concentrating a significant amount of forces and equipment there, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi noted earlier. The intensity of offensive operations in the Hulyaipole area is significantly higher compared to other directions, according to the commander-in-chief. Recently, Ukrainian drones struck a command post of the Russian Federal Security Service in occupied Donetsk, killing 12 officers and injuring 15 others, Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi said on Telegram. A series of explosions rocked Donetsk and videos began circulating on social media showing what appeared to be Ukrainian drones striking a multi-story unfinished building. Ukrainian forces used FP-2 drones manufactured by the Ukrainian defense company Fire Point and designed for medium-range strikes, with a payload of 60 to 100 kilograms, Brovdi said. The operation, during which operators carried out "eight precision strikes on the target," was conducted by the Unmanned Systems Forces together with fighters from the 1st Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard "Azov," the statement read.
The command post that was struck was responsible for sabotage operations, building intelligence networks, recruitment, carrying out terrorist attacks and arson, and coordinating Russian proxy forces, according to Brovdi.
