Special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine "Spider Web" seriously destoyed Russia’s ability to carry out massive missile attacks. Recall, on June 1, drones of the Security Service destroyed and damaged 41 enemy planes at airfields deep in the rear. This is about 34% of Russia’s strategic aviation.
During the special operation, drone strikes were carried out on four Russian military airfields: "Olenya", "Ivanovo", "Dyagilevo" and "Belaya". The strategic aviation of the aggressor state, which regularly shells peaceful Ukrainian cities, was based there.
The estimated value of the equipment damaged as a result of the Security Service’s special operation "Web" exceeds 7 billion US dollars. Total losses of enemy aircraft amount to 41 units, including A-50, Tu-95, Tu-22, Tu-160, as well as An-12 and Il-78 aircraft.
As a result, the intensity of shelling fell almost twice. If in April and May, Russia launched an average of 33 missiles in one strike, then in June-July – only 19. This is a drop of 42%.
After the "Spider Web", the enemy was forced to redeploy and "hide" the surviving planes at distant airfields, which complicated the logistics of their use. Some of the strategic bombers require long-term repair.
So, thanks to the Security Service of Ukraine, Russia can no longer attack on such a large scale as before. And every flight of its strategic aviation even more depletes the limited resource of aircraft.
Recall, after Operation “Spider Web”, Russia began to develop the production capacity of the aircraft plant in Kazan. It can build Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers, as well as Tu-22M3 long-range aircraft.
According to Finnish publication Yle satellite images show that the Russians have built several new hangars at the aircraft plant in Kazan, which are scheduled to be put into operation by the end of 2026. The largest of the new buildings is approximately 320 metres long and has an area of approximately 19,000 square metres, which is equivalent to an area of almost three football fields.
Satellite images also show active construction of other hangars, likely for the repair and maintenance of other aircraft.
It is known from open sources that the Kazan Aviation Plant will spend about 90 billion rubles or almost $10 billion on modernizing production.
Currently, construction is behind schedule due to sanctions and a lack of labor. In particular, it is known that the production of the Tu-214 civil aircraft has been effectively disrupted, since only one of the 23 ordered aircraft is ready so far.
The publication noted that it was no coincidence that the expansion of production capacity coincided with the Ukrainian Operation Spider Web.
