Russia launched a coordinated attack on Ukraine despite a ceasefire that came into force at midnight on May 6.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force’s official Telegram channel, several regions were targeted overnight, including Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk.
On the morning of May 6, Russia struck Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs, carrying out multiple launches. Drones were also launched toward Kryvyi Rih.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that a Shahed drone targeted a private home in the Kharkiv region, damaging it and seven nearby buildings.

On May 4, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the introduction of a ceasefire starting at 00:00 on the night of May 6. This was a response to Russia’s unilateral declaration of a “truce” for May 8–9.
The head of state noted that there was sufficient time to ensure a real cessation of hostilities and emphasized that Ukraine would act symmetrically in response to the actions of the invading forces.
