Russian Drone Crashes in Romania Overnight During Attack on Odesa Region

A Russian drone crashed overnight in Romania near the Ukrainian border.

This was reported on the Romanian Ministry of Defense’s website.

The drone crashed during a large-scale air attack by Russian invaders on the southern Odesa region.

According to the Romanian military, the drone entered the country’s airspace at 12:44 a.m., penetrating approximately 4 kilometers inland.

It then crashed 2 km from the village of Parkesh in Tulcea County.

Firefighters and military personnel arrived at the crash site, where they found an area of scorched vegetation and drone debris. The crash of the Russian drone is linked to a large-scale airstrike that Russia launched last night against the Odesa region. Energy, port, and civilian infrastructure sustained damage.

An air raid alert was declared in the Bolhrad, Odesa, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi, and Izmail districts at 12:07 a.m.

At around 12:44 a.m., at least six explosions were heard in Izmail, which is on the border with Romania. The all-clear was given at 1:31 a.m.

During this Russian attack, the Romanian Air Force scrambled two F-16 fighter jets to monitor the air situation.

In total, last night, the invaders launched 153 domestically produced drones to strike Ukraine. About 100 of them were Shaheds. Meanwhile, Ukrainian air defense neutralized 130 UAVs, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
