As reported Ukrainian Defense Forces have recently carried out a series of strikes on Russian military facilities located on the annexed peninsula. In this way, the Ukrainian military is destroying the logistics of the Russian army and its air defense system.
Recall, on August 30, Ukrainian troops attacked a Russian border outpost in the village of Voloshino near Armyansk in Crimea. As a result of this attack, boats and barracks were hit. This was reported by some Russian Telegram channels, in particular ASTRA, citing satellite images.
According to their data, there is visual confirmation of damage to four boats. Three missiles presumably reached the target: the first hit the building, the second – not far from the boats, the third fell several hundred meters from the object.
The Ukrainian portal "Military" , citing sources in the Ukrainian army, reported that the border zone in annexed Crimea was attacked by new long-range missiles "Flamingo". Military expert and founder of the charity organization "Reaktivnaya Pochta" Pavel Narozhny noted that the emergence of long-range missiles could play a key role in the war. According to him, not only the range is important – up to 3,000 kilometers – but also the number of such missiles. “Firstly, we probably only saw the launch of three missiles, but a truly serious impact on the course of military operations could be exerted by dozens, if not hundreds of missiles that we will launch not at border guards, but at targets located deep in the Russian rear,” said Pavel Narozhny. He stressed that, unlike drones with a limited warhead, the new missiles are capable of striking Russian military-industrial complex facilities and critical infrastructure.
"If we have enough of them, and we are talking about hundreds of them, which we need, and if these missiles can actually pass through Russian air defenses, they can really have a significant impact on the course of military operations," the expert noted.
Narozhny added that the main target for using the Flamingo could be military-industrial complex facilities, oil refineries, gas and oil infrastructure deep in Russia.
According to Pavel Narozhny, the choice of targets in Crimea is explained by the need to monitor the first tests and the accuracy of hits.
"We see the first strike. If we believe this information, then two missiles hit the target, and one did not. We are talking about the first tests, trials. And why is this target near Armyansk? It is very close to the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and we can monitor the result," the expert said. He added that such strikes not only weaken Russia’s military potential, but also force it to transfer air defense assets to Crimea from Russian regions, weakening the country’s defense in other areas.
