Kremlin Z-war correspondent Alexander Kots made a bold admission on state-run radio station Komsomolskaya Pravda. He effectively admitted that the Russian army is doing to Ukrainian cities and villages what the Nazis did in World War II. Kots reported that in recent months he had been working in the Pokrovsk sector, which is being actively attacked by the Russian Armed Forces. And, according to him, as a result of the Russian "liberation," towns and villages there were literally reduced to dust. "You drive along, and you see villages completely destroyed. Only the chimneys remain, like the Khatyn memorial, a cemetery for lost villages. The villages are in exactly this state. Everything has been completely wiped out," Kots said frankly. He also emphasized that in many places, in his opinion, there is "nothing left to rebuild." The war correspondent also addressed the plight of civilians caught up in Russian occupation. Russia has effectively rendered them homeless. "This is a huge number of people, thousands of people, I’m afraid to say tens of thousands, but that order of magnitude of numbers is also possible," the Z-war correspondent admitted. Kots listed a number of Ukrainian cities and towns that, according to him, were effectively destroyed: Soledar, Krasnaya Gora, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, as well as hundreds of villages that were "simply wiped out." The military correspondent admitted that the occupation authorities have postponed the restoration of destroyed settlements indefinitely; it will begin after the war, which, according to him, is unclear when it will end. Putin’s actions in Ukraine have been horrific enough to need no exaggeration. Yet Putin is committing some of the same blunders that doomed Germany’s 1941 invasion of the USSR – while using “Hitler-like tricks and tactics” to justify his brutality, military historians and scholars say. This is the savage irony behind Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine that’s become clear as the war Is in its fourth years. Poor logistical planning also played a critical role in Nazi Germany’s defeat on the Eastern front, where Hitler expected a quick victory. The German army failed to set up sufficient supply lines for the vast distances and harsh terrain of the Soviet Union. German tanks ran out of fuel. The consequences of this poor logistical planning would prove fatal when the Russian winter hit. Hitler didn’t equip many of his soldiers with winter clothing because he thought the Soviet army was so inferior. German soldiers were forced to fight in freezing temperatures while still clad in their summer uniforms, with some using newspaper and straw to shield themselves against the cold.
