The 425th Separate Assault Regiment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, “Skala", reported the destruction of two groups of Russian troops in Pokrovsk. The assault troops received a report from reconnaissance that the invaders had dug in at one of the positions. Three "Skala" soldiers moved in to carry out the mission: they pelted the enemy trench with grenades and then eliminated the two enemy soldiers with small arms fire.
Ukrainian attack aircraft were soon informed that Russian troops had dug in at another position. First, a drone bomber dropped on them, then Skala attack aircraft entered the fray, killing one occupier and capturing two . It was discovered that the Russian invaders were from the 1441st Altai Regiment , based in the Samara region in military unit 95382. In Ukraine, Altai was first stationed in Novopetrivka, then in Selidovo, and from there they were sent to Pokrovsk .
Recall, the “Skala” Regiment has been carrying out combat missions in Pokrovsk for a long time. Recently, its soldiers captured an enemy fortified area in the north of the city. According to the General Staff, fighters from the 1st Assault Battalion have completely cleared a fortified Russian stronghold in the northern part of the city. This secured a key logistics route within Pokrovsk—critical for maintaining the defense and maneuvering units.
Pokrovsk has seen some of the heaviest frontline fighting for months, as Russian forces repeatedly try to push into the city and cut Ukrainian supply routes. Ukrainian defenders, including specialized assault and drone units, are focused on keeping Russian troops from consolidating while carrying out targeted strikes to reduce their combat strength. Operations here reflect a broader effort to hold key towns and maintain control over critical transport and supply lines in eastern Ukraine. İt should be noted that the tank unit of the 425th Assault Regiment “Skala” has received M1 Abrams tanks, becoming the second user of these vehicles in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Presumably, the Skaly tank unit was equipped with Australian M1A1 Abrams, the first batch of which arrived in Ukraine in late July. Australia has pledged to provide a 49-vehicle tank battalion.The Pokrovsk direction remains one of the most contested sections of the front, with Russian troops repeatedly attempting to infiltrate residential areas and disrupt supply lines. In addition, even under the battalion’s regular structure, Skala’s fighters were among the first to receive American M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. They are complemented by M113 tracked armored personnel carriers and the rather rare M1117 wheeled armored vehicles.
