Tension at NATO HQ: Mark Rutte addresses U.S.–Iran controversy | Midday Report

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has presented his Annual Report for 2025 at NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The speech came amid growing criticism over his recent remarks on U.S.–Iran relations, adding tension to an already sensitive geopolitical situation.

The Dutch prime minister says he’s looking forward to Poland joining leaders at the table of the Joint Expeditionary Force – the joint defense coalition under NATO. The JEF summit is taking place in Helsinki today, bringing together Northern European allies to discuss security in the Baltic and Arctic regions, support for Ukraine, and growing concerns over Russia’s shadow fleet.
