A major fire broke out at the oil refinery in Tuapse following an attack by Ukrainian strike drones.
According to the Astra outlet, the attack occurred on the night of April 19–20, 2026. As a result of a large-scale strike, a significant part of the refinery’s tank farm caught fire.
According to an analysis of photos by the Astra outlet, the fire engulfed about 10 storage tanks in the port area of the oil refinery.
Meanwhile, the governor of Krasnodar Krai confirmed that the plant came under a large-scale attack.

It is worth noting that attacks on the Tuapse oil refinery are not rare. On April 16, drones struck the ELOU-AVT-12 primary oil processing unit and fuel storage tanks.
At that time, the fire at the plant lasted more than 42 hours before it was extinguished.
The Tuapse oil refinery is considered one of the most technologically complex plants operated by Rosneft. The facility is capable of processing up to 12 million tons of oil per year, and its refining depth is about 98%, which is a very high figure.
The facility produces diesel fuel (Euro-5), fuel oil, vacuum gas oil, and aviation fuel.

To handle this volume of processing, the total storage capacity for crude oil and petroleum products exceeds 1.5 million cubic meters.
The tank farm includes dozens of vertical steel tanks of various capacities, ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 m³ each. Despite this, the most important component of the plant is the ELOU-AVT-12 unit.
Militarnyi previously reported that on December 31, 2025, Ukrainian drones struck the oil infrastructure of the coastal city of Tuapse in southern Russia. Since the start of the full-scale war, Ukraine has reportedly attacked the Tuapse oil refinery at least nine times.
