The full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, which started on February 24, 2022, has now surpassed the duration of Nazi Germany’s war against the Soviet Union.
Ukrainian officials continue urging allies to increase sanctions as Russian attacks target energy infrastructure, leaving nearly a million Ukrainians without power.
Norway will provide a $400 million aid package, with $200 million dedicated to supporting Ukraine’s energy needs, while the U.K. announced plans to develop new tactical ballistic missiles under “Project Nightfall” to strengthen Ukrainain defenses.
Reports emerged that Russian drones struck foreign-flagged vessels near Chornomorsk on Monday, and continue attacks on Kyiv and Odesa, aiming to target energy infrastructure. Meanwhile, not all allies are aligned, with Slovakia reaffirming it will not provide military aid or peacekeeping forces.
