On day 1,378 of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visits Ireland as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner hold talks with Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Ahead of the meeting, the Russian leader rejected European peace proposals regarding Ukraine and warned Europe against confronting Russia. NATO chief Mark Rutte reiterated that, despite Ukraine’s application to join the alliance, NATO still lacks the consensus required for membership. Meanwhile, as fighting for Pokrovsk continues, Ukraine reports shooting down 39 Russian drones overnight, with about 20 strikes hitting several regions. On Monday in France, First Lady Olena Zelenska and Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha joined French officials to urge the return of Ukrainian children who were forcibly removed to Russia.
