Ukrainian troops have struck the Russian army’s command post in eastern Donetsk region with the use of HIMARS rocket artillery system. Video footage released in social media features the aftermath of the devastating attack. Thirty Russian soldiers were reportedly killed during the attack that was launched last week. The facility that used to house a Russian command post has been levelled to the ground. Talking to the camera, Ukrainian soldiers present in the area, displayed Russian troops’ belongings that were retrieved from under the rubbles, stressing that this testifies to the fact that the attacked factory was used by the Russian army and was not a civilian facility. The Ukrainian serviceman stressed that everyone knew perfectly well that a Russian command post was located on the factory’s territory. The soldier explained that Ukraine launched two HIMARS at the facility, inflicting heavy losses on Russian troops. None of Ukrainian soldiers reportedly were killed in the attack. Furthermore, the soldier stressed that Russian army units continue bombing the Donetsk region. Fighting in Donetsk remains among the most intense along the entire front line, with Russian forces continuing pressure around Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, and the broader so-called “fortress belt” of eastern Ukrainian cities. Ukrainian military reports say the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors have recently seen the highest number of daily combat clashes, including heavy artillery fire, drone attacks, guided bomb strikes, and repeated infantry assaults.
