Russian military propagandist Maxim Kalashnikov openly described the catastrophic problems of the Russian army at the front in his Telegram channel. According to him, Ukrainian drones have begun a systematic "hunt" for long-range guns, self-propelled artillery units and towed howitzers. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are deliberately destroying Giatsints and Pions, depriving the occupiers of key means of fire pressure from a distance. First, the drones destroy the grates and "grills", and then they hit the gun barrels with cumulative charges. Kalashnikov admits that the Russian army is not capable of quickly replenishing losses due to a shortage of barrels and chronic problems with production.
According to the Russian blogger, it is the drones that have become the main factor that disrupts the offensive plans of the Russian Armed Forces and inflicts major losses on them. The "death zone" of Ukrainian drones, according to his estimates, already extends 50 kilometers from the front line. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are methodically hitting logistics, warehouses, and columns of equipment, forcing the Russians to get nervous and break away from their positions.
Of particular note is the admission that the Ukrainian army has a separate branch of the armed forces – the Unmanned Systems Forces, while Russia has yet to create such a structure. He also added that his “bad feelings are coming true,” as the Ukrainian Armed Forces are dragging out the fighting, turning each attempt at an offensive by the Russians into a series of painful defeats. "Despite reports that we have surpassed Ukraine in drone production, systematicity beats quantitative superiority," Kalashnikov admitted.
These statements by the Russian side actually confirm that Ukraine has developed effective tactics that allow it to inflict high losses on the Russian army. The systematic use of drones by the Ukrainian Armed Forces has become a factor that has sharply increased the occupiers’ losses and is bleeding their offensive potential.
Earlier, military expert Vasily Pekhnyo explained how much drones have changed logistics in the Russian-Ukrainian war: "This is actually a full-fledged combat operation." The formula "reconnaissance drone + attack UAV" , which is actively used at the front, has essentially brought the classic supply chain to its knees. The usual logistics scheme, which is a large block both in the Defense Forces and in world military strategies, has already outlived itself, and therefore ground robotic systems, which switch the main blow to themselves, are now very important. "Now logistics is actually a full-fledged combat operation. And, as our soldiers say, it is much more difficult than, for example, storming the positions directly," the analyst emphasized.
