On the night of April 28, Ukrainian drones again attacked the Russian city of Tuapse, home to a marine oil terminal and refinery, according to ASTRA and the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ . This was the third strike in the past two weeks. Media reports indicate that a tank farm was attacked, sparking a fire. Local residents told "Ostorozhno Novosti" that the drone attack lasted several hours. The local emergency response team claims there are no casualties. "It was a terrible night. Huge black columns of smoke are now billowing over the city. It smells like burning. People are mostly walking around without respirators or wearing medical masks. They say they sniffed and couldn’t smell anything: it’s very dangerous, " Kedr writes . The regional governor reported that “an evacuation is currently underway for the safety of residents of houses located near the oil refinery.” Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev announced that 164 people and 46 pieces of equipment were deployed to extinguish the "massive fire at the oil refinery." "For the safety of residents of buildings located near the oil refinery, an evacuation is underway. A temporary shelter has been set up at local School No. 6. I ask residents to follow all recommendations," the Russian official said. Kondratyev claims the Tuapse oil refinery fire is large-scale, caused by a drone attack. Meanwhile, the Krasnodar Krai emergency response team claims the fire was started by "drone fragments falling." The Tuapse oil refinery is designed to export Russian oil by sea. Dictator Vladimir Putin spends the proceeds from energy sales on continuing his war against Ukraine, making Russian oil infrastructure a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In April of this year, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Tuapse refinery several times, causing significant damage. Some fuel tanks burned for up to five days. Ukrainian drones attacked Tuapse twice, on April 16 and 20. Following the initial strikes, a fire broke out at the sea terminal , and oil products spilled into the river. The fire was extinguished on April 19. That same day, the regional task force reported the spill contained.
