He explained that what began as small-scale, crowdfunded FPV drone experiments has developed into a central pillar of modern warfare, driven by constant frontline adaptation and real-time feedback between soldiers and manufacturers. Ferguson highlighted Ukraine’s unusually agile defence ecosystem, where engineers work directly alongside troops to rapidly refine equipment based on battlefield conditions. He also pointed out that while Ukraine has significant production capacity, scaling is ultimately constrained by funding rather than industrial capability. In his view, deeper international partnerships could unlock this potential, turning financial support into expanded production and mutual defense cooperation.
