Ukrainian Forces Attack Strategic Gas Processing Plant in Astrakhan Region

On the night of December 15, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked a strategic facility in the Russian Federation – the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The strike was aimed at reducing the enemy’s explosives production capabilities.

The Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant is one of the key enterprises in the Russian oil and gas industry.

In particular, the company produces up to 3.5 million tons of sulfur annually.

The sulfur is used by the Russian military-industrial complex to make explosives.

After the strike, explosions were recorded on the territory of the plant.

A massive fire was also reported at the facility.

The extent of damage and losses is currently being clarified.

The General Staff emphasizes that attacks on such facilities are aimed at undermining the enemy’s offensive potential.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue to take measures to force the Russian Federation to stop its armed aggression against Ukraine,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces recently struck a chemical plant in the Stavropol Krai and a training ground in the Donetsk region – the General Staff confirmed dozens of casualties.
