Drones of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces unit on May 15 carried out 55 strikes against 23 Russian military targets and facilities in the operational rear areas of Russia’s Taganrog, Yeysk cities, the Crimea Peninsula, as well as occupied Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Luhansk regions, including in Berdiansk and Melitopol. Ukrainian drones destroyed a Beriev Be-200 “Altair” amphibious aircraft and a Ka-27 helicopter in Russia’s Yeysk city, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces reported. Apart from this, a Pantsir air defense system and a Tor air defense system, a cargo ship transporting ammunition, a locomotive, and other targets belonging to the Russian army were also hit. The Pantsir-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system was hit in the occupied Crimea and a dry cargo ship with ammunition in Berdyansk. The Tor-M2 air defense system was hit in eastern Luhansk region by Ukraine’s 427th Rarog brigade. There, the 414th “Ptakha Magyar” Brigade, together with the 20th K-2 Brigade, targeted n Russian training center and a temporary troop deployment site. Earlier, in late April, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces reportedly struck two helicopters – a Mi-28 and a Mi-17 – in Russia’s Voronezh region, roughly 150 kilometers from the front line. Later, on May 7, SBS commander Robert Brovdi confirmed a strike on a Lukoil oil facility in the Russian city of Perm. On May 14, Magyar also announced plans to implement what he described as the “Standard 10” approach for UAV strike units targeting Russian forces. According to him, Ukrainian operators had identified a particular vulnerability in the enemy’s defenses that could be exploited more systematically.
