The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted a deep-strike attack on the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara region.
Video footage confirming the attack and showing the moments of impact was published by the media outlet Exilenova+. According to their information, the strike was carried out by the First Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces.
Based on the outlet’s analysis, the strikes hit two energy facilities within the city.
In particular, Ukrainian UAVs struck the ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil processing unit – an electric desalting unit and an atmospheric-vacuum distillation unit with a design capacity of 6 million tons of oil per year.

The Syzran Oil Refinery has only one such unit, so if it is seriously damaged, it would effectively result in a shutdown of the plant’s production.
The plant’s main product is diesel fuel for the domestic Russian market, including supplies for occupation forces in Ukraine.
The Syzran Oil Refinery produces about 2.5 million tons of diesel per year, making it a key producer for the Samara region and an important component of the fuel balance of the entire Volga region.
The Syzran Oil Refinery has been a regular target of strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During 2025, Ukrainian strike UAVs have already hit the plant’s workshops and the ELOU-AVT-6 unit.
In addition, drones struck one of the city’s electrical substations (likely the Syzran 220 kV power substation).
Local residents reported temporary power and heating outages in residential buildings.
An air raid alert in the Samara region lasted from 00:31 a.m. to 07:40 a.m. local time.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence claimed that 12 drones were allegedly shot down in the region.
