In the fifth year of the Great War in Russia, sharp criticism of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin began to be publicly voiced. A telling example was the rally in Novosibirsk on the occasion of May Day. There, the Russian authorities and the dictator himself were criticized for the protracted war. They were voiced by a representative of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. He accused Putin of forming a vertical power structure out of corrupt officials. "There are now proposals to rally around the ruling class, around the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, despite all the negative manifestations we are witnessing in our lives today, despite the fact that almost the entire staff of the previous Ministry of Defense is under investigation or behind bars… This is theft, this is rottenness! Criminals in power are not the exception, they are the rule! The very system that has existed under Putin for 26 years has constantly reproduced these people ," the communist declared. The speaker also criticized the Kremlin’s claims that the war would continue until the goals of the so-called "SVO" were fully achieved. He assured that the Russians were not prepared to wait that long. "Now they’re drafting young men into military service. They’re already writing back that they’re forcing young men who were just playing with toys to sign contracts. And today they’re being asked to sign a contract and go to a place from which many never return. And we’re watching, watching, and signing up… Where’s Medvedev’s son? He’s preparing to make a political career in United Russia. Where’s Kiriyenko’s son? He’s cutting billions out of budgets on VKontakte. Where’s Peskov’s son, who ‘served’ in Wagner? Where are Solovyov’s sons? Where are Putin’s daughters, for goodness sake? Are they nurses on the front lines? And now women are also being called upon to sign contracts… Just not them, who own everything," a representative of the Russian Communist Party stated.
Recall, recently, popular Russian blogger and former "Dom-2" contestant Victoria Bonya recorded a video message to Putin , in which she stated that a "thick wall" has grown between the government and society, and dangerous tensions are growing in the country. She claimed that Putin’s authorities are unaware of the real situation in the country. Bonya claims that Russians fear the government, and that officials and Putin’s inner circle aren’t communicating the truth to him. This, she says, creates a sense of disconnect between the country’s leadership and the real problems of its citizens. The blogger also linked internet restrictions to the worsening situation for small businesses. According to her, entrepreneurs are losing income, and many Russians are increasingly considering leaving the country. The main message of the address was that public discontent in Russia is growing. She stated that the authorities are "compressing a spring" that could "go off" at some point. In doing so, she effectively warned the Kremlin of the risk of an internal crisis if the problems continue to be ignored.
