The World Health Organization has declared the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda a public health emergency of international concern, while clarifying the situation doesn’t currently meet the criteria for a pandemic. So far, 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths have been reported, though officials warn of significant uncertainties regarding the true scale and spread of the disease.
