The dispute deepened amid a growing row over Russian oil deliveries through the Druzhba pipeline, prompting sharp exchanges between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. Meanwhile, Ukraine’s hopes for accelerated European Union membership suffered a setback after EU countries rebuffed a “reversed accession” proposal, undermining Kyiv’s “membership first, integration later” ambitions.
