1 dead, 5 injured in separate shootings in St. Louis City

ST. LOUIS – One person is dead and five others were left injured Thursday night following two separate shootings in St. Louis City.

The shootings occurred in different parts of the city within a three-hour span.

The first incident took place just after 7 p.m. in a business parking lot on Morgan Ford Road and Beck Avenue in south St. Louis’ Tower Grove South neighborhood. At the scene, officers responded to reports of a shootout involving five people.

All five individuals involved, including three teenagers aged 16 to 18 and two young men aged 18 to 24, were transported to hospitals in private cars and are reported to be in stable condition.

Upon arrival at the scene, police discovered bullet holes in a Mercedes, which had been reported stolen in a carjacking on July 11. Police discovered approximately 30 shell casings at the scene and located another vehicle near a hospital believed to be connected to the shooting.

Police said they are not seeking any additional suspects in the shooting.

Later Thursday night, officers responded to a call for a shooting just before 10 p.m. on Park Lane and Lucille Avenue in north St. Louis’ Walnut Park West neighborhood.

At the scene, police found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man would later die from his injuries. Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting, but have not identified any suspects.

As of Friday morning, authorities have not found any indications that the two shootings are connected. Both shootings are still under investigation.
