2.9M quake shakes East Bay Monday night

(KRON) — A 2.9-magnitude earthquake struck the East Bay on Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The epicenter was 3.2 miles west of Dublin.

The tremblor occurred at 10:55 p.m. near Interstate 580 between Castro Valley and Dublin, USGS said. Hundreds of people submitted reports feeling the shaking all across the East Bay, along with portions of the San Francisco Peninsula and the South Bay, according to USGS’s “Did You Feel It?” survey.

There were no initial reports of damage or injuries.
