Crews respond to Concord grass fire after minivan catches fire

(KRON) — Crews are responding to a fire that broke out when a minivan caught fire Wednesday evening in Concord, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (Con Fire). The fire is located near the intersection of Kirker Pass Road and Hess Road — about one mile east of the Toyota Pavilion at Concord.

As of 6 p.m., the fire is listed at three acres, according to Con Fire. Forward progress has been stopped, and the fire has been knocked down.

Southbound Kirker Pass remains closed at this time as crews are working in the area. The public is asked to avoid the area.

An ambulance was sent to the scene, but no injuries have been reported at this time. Cal Fire is also at the scene responding to the fire.
